You’ve Got Those SEO Rankings, Now What?

So you have taken all the SEO advice, completed the on page work, got the inbound links and can now see your site on the first page of your favorite search engine. You should now be getting plenty of visitors to your site who have actually searched for what you’re providing. But what if you’re not ? As I have seen with one of my sites whose bounce rate remained high while on the first page for a search term I had pursued optimizing is for nothing if you don’t do two important things.

The first is kind of obvious but so important. Provide great content and build a professional looking site.I created a site that had some good content but the site itself lacked the professional sheen that my competitors had and on the internet where your competition is a click away that can be fatal. By monitoring the bounce rate of your site through Google analytics and by looking at competitors sites its easy enough to spot when a sites web design isn’t up to par.

The second is research. If you don’t do your homework you can end up optimizing for a search term that no one is hunting for or that even with a number one position doesn’t convert visitors into customers, readers, subscribers or whatever. Finding a search term that has not been optimized heavily for and that gets a lot of searches is one of the most important aspects of an optimizing campaign and should be given the time it deserves. Consider not only geographical alternatives on a theme but also misspellings.

Consider also whether or not your site can deliver for the visitors that your optimizing campaign will bring in. If for example you are optimizing for cheap electronics have a look at who your competitors will be once you’re on the front page of results . If they are offering products at a much lower price than you and have a wider range then the research stage is when you should be judging whether or not a search term is worth the hassle.

Organic SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a term associated with web pages and their rankings. It is a technique incorporated into web pages to improve their rankings in the major search engines. An effective SEO technique when implemented can list a web page earlier or higher in search engine listings, thus increasing the traffic to your web page with users who are searching with a specific keyword, phrase or topic. Various algorithms are implemented to catch the attention of major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft’s Live Search. One such optimization technique is the organic SEO.

SEO professionals use different optimization techniques with web pages such as text optimization, image optimization, flash optimization and geographic optimization. Flash optimization works around recoding HTML codes in flash to get pages with majority flash content to be search engine friendly. This is one of the latest optimization techniques in SEO. Earlier it was difficult for search engines to read and index pages with flash content. Geographic optimization is aimed to include web pages in search listings for users who are searching for services in a particular county, city or state.

SEO services can be implemented either as a stand-alone service or as part of online marketing. The strategy often involves adding specific keywords and meta-tags to pages. SEO professionals can embed these tags within HTML codes in such a way that they will be indexed by crawler programs used by search engines to list pages.

Two major approaches in web page optimization are the white hat SEO (Organic SEO) and black hat SEO. The white hat SEO implements algorithms in an ‘organic’ or ‘natural’ manner according to the ethical standards in coding. These algorithms are designed to maintain the higher search rankings and will be effective for a long period. On the contrary, the black hat SEO employs fake techniques aimed at getting an immediate ranking, but the rankings will be temporary and will have a shorter life span.

A good SEO consultant team can review and recommend modifications to be made in existing design and content. They can also design and implement pages from scratch, with search engine optimization techniques incorporated. Quality copywriting services along with unique design, easy navigation aids and marketing services are all part of effective SEO.

All major search engines are supporting organic SEO methods implemented in web pages. The majority of web pages being listed in major search results are those which have implemented effective SEO services. A small investment in effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques will eventually make your web page more conspicuous and operate in a highly competitive and profitable manner with great returns guaranteed.

Professional SEO Companies - Do They Really Help Your Business?

Setting up a business online is just as hard as going the traditional way. For one, you should know how to get on with transactions using cutting edge techniques. This means that you will have to learn several online marketing strategies, like dealing with an affiliate or by linking via a social bookmarking networks.

However, these do not assure you of a successful business, especially when you’re dealing with an equally competitive track of existing networks online. This is the reason why others have taken the famous path of optimizing their websites on search engines with the help of professional SEO companies.

But do these companies really help online businesses?

With about 407 million users, 33,942,100 domains and 25,675,450 websites in the World Wide Web, it is quite difficult to make your site stand out by merely advertising to the people you know. SEO Companies are helpful because after you have applied your site, they would market you as an affiliate and give the Internet searchers information and positive words about your site. In a way, they will be the ones selling it for you.

Another is that they would work on getting the right traffic for your business website; they actually have the ability to bring in 42 to 86 percent of Internet users. This way, your site can appear first once someone tags in on the word “business” or “marketing” or on a specific theme. Traffic via SEO has already been proven to be 30 times more effective compared to other sponsored links. To add, professional SEO companies also assure that the websites they give popular hits to in the likes of Yahoo, MSN and Google can stay on top for as long as they could contain it.

Although they may seem the same for some users, professional SEO Companies such as 7seo.com and jump2stop.com vary significantly from paid ads because they are more subtle. They do not need to really present an advertisement on side boxes online. SEO also requires a cheaper budget, compared to pay-per-click, because it costs only around 50 cents. This could help lower your business’ operational capital, as opposed to dealing with the $1.70 pay per check networks.

While sponsored links may appear on widgets or side boxes, there is a tendency that people will ignore it. SEO, on the other hand, works on key words and relies considerably on users as they use the search engines. SEO is also a good way to rally on a single marketing service as it caters to 60 to 65 percent of individuals world wide who usually only accept ideas from the first pages they see on the search engines.

For instance, if you type “Miami Real Estate” on Google or Yahoo! you will see the site miamirealestateinc.org on the top five range. If you had wondered how Google ranked these sites and decided which sites go to what pages, here’s your answer - keyword optimization, with the assistance of professional SEO companies. There is no doubt that business for firms on the top ten lists are enjoying robust business returns since they gained first ranks. You can do this for your site, as well, by doing it on your own, or by going the easy and more hassle-free route via professional SEO firms.

Drive Traffic to Your Site With These 9 Low Cost Methods

All of us Webmasters would love to have massive amounts of traffic stampeding our sites…especially if that traffic was free or low cost. Here are 9 low cost ways to drive massive amounts of traffic to your site. Not all of these methods may be for you, but some may be the traffic generating gold mine you’ve been looking for.

Blog and Website owners are always looking for effective ways to drive quality traffic to their sites. For some this can be a hair pulling effort. For others, it seems no matter what they try, traffic comes rolling in.

Here are 9 Low Cost Ways to Drive Massive Amounts of Traffic To Your Site

Pay-Per-Click Programs - You should try AdWords and other Pay-Per-Click programs such as Yahoo Publisher Network and Microsoft AdCenter, only if you have a good understanding of how PPC programs work. Newbies should not dive into PPC unless you have a large budget. A better way to use AdWords would be to use the site targeted feature of AdWords and choose sites that are relevant to yours. Site targeted AdWords are charged on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) basis rather than a per-click basis.

Banner Advertising - You can use many AdSense alternatives such as AdBrite, to advertise on. Speaking of AdBrite, I’ve seen them on some very specific sites where AdSense was not used. This could be for a variety of reasons, but it’s worth checking into sites where you’d like to advertise and see which program they are using to monetize their site.

Blog Reviews- Other bloggers reviewing your site could bring in a huge flood of new readers to your site. Not only can blog reviews bring in a load of traffic, if you’re blog review is on a high PR page, the review can give your site a good boost in the search engines.

Private Advertising - You don’t have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to get your ad on A-list blogs to take advantage of private advertising. There are a lot of popular sites on the Internet that have very targeted readers where you can buy an ad for peanuts. You can get a nice banner ad on some of these sites for as little as $25 per month.

Ask and you shall receive! Funny thing. Many Webmasters never think about emailing another Webmaster and asking for a link. Yet, this can be a very easy way to obtain links from other sights. Sure, some will ignore you, but others will consider and even give you a simple link from their site to yours. Try it sometime!

Blog Networks - I’ve never used Blog Networks, but I know a few site owners who swear by the traffic from Blog Networks like Blog Explosion, Blog Advance, Blog Soldiers and the new Blog Rush. With these networks, you get credits for sending traffic to other Network members sites. In many cases, you can also purchase credits at a reasonable rate. In turn, you use these credits to “buy” impressions back to your site. As good as that sounds, article marketing will still bring in more backlinks and traffic.

Stumble Upon Ads- StumbleUpon can send you loads of traffic. But for those who just don’t have the time or expertise to get that rush of traffic from SU, they do have ads and many can be had for as little as 5 centers per click. This is cheap in anyones book!

Hire Posters - This is another method I’ve never used, but know some people who swear by it. This works by hiring a company or person to post on forums and leave blog comments with links pointing back to your site. From the prices I’ve seen, you can get this done for as little as 10 to 20 cents per post. Browse the Marketplaces on DigitalPoint Forums and SitePoint to find companies and individuals who do this type of work.

Automobile Ad Wraps - These can be very effective if you have a product or service that serves a local market. This program works when a broker pays drivers to drive around with magnetic signs or auto-wraps on their vehicles. People pay attention to ads on vehicles and this can drive some very targeted traffic to your site or local business. Places to look are; Ad-Wraps, AutoWrapped.Com and AutoMurals.Com. I know a small businessman in the Northwest that post “Want Ads” on Craigslist, Kijiji and other local classified ad sites looking for driver. He cuts out the Middleman and saves some serious money in the process.

The important thing is to test, test and test more if you want to take full advantage of any of these programs! I think you’ll be amazed at how much traffic you can generate with a little bit of money.

These have worked for other Webmasters but may not work for you. Everyone is different. It all depends on your comfort level and your skill level. Just remember, there are other ways to drive massive amounts of traffic to your site, but some cost more than others!

How to Use Your Article Content to Generate Free Traffic For Life

I was recently hanging out with some other network marketers in a forum and I came across another members post. His post was a question about whether he was doing the right thing in promoting his articles to generate free traffic to his website. After reading the post, I realized that he was using the perfect system and he probably just didn’t even know it.

So, what I wanted to do was share with you this hidden little system that he was using and now that I am currently using that has been ultra successful. The system includes 5 little steps that you can do with your eyes closed. To generate free traffic to your website for life, all you have to do is:

1. Create and submit your article content to the article directories of your choice. Notice I said directories and not directory. You want to have as many backlinks to your site as possible because backlinks help to generate the free traffic you desire.

2. Take that same content and then post it to your blog. The key here is to make sure you ping your blog. You can ping to individual sites or you can use a free service like pingomatic or pingoat that will send out your ping to several blog directories.

3. Digg your post. Open a free account at Digg.com and each post you make, dig it! Others will find your content and begin to share it with others. Digg is a social networking site.

4. Utilize once again your same article content and make a video for it and upload it to youtube and other video sites. The video will bring your written word to life and attract the prospect who values “seeing” information as opposed to always reading it. Videos are extremely hot right now so this is an awesome way to promote you and your expertise . Many of the MLM gurus are using this technique to generate free traffic to their sites as well.

5. Lastly, email a link to your video or to your article to your list. Get the people already in your funnel involved. Keeping them aware of your latest activity will help them to realize that you are the “right one” to follow for success.

Now this really easy list of tasks can be completed by anyone serious about growing their business, their list and their bank account! If you take this information and put it to use right away, you will be able to generate free traffic to your website endlessly for the rest of your life. So go ahead and get to work!

If you would like to find more information about how you can successfully grow your network marketing business on the internet, follow the “Internet MLM Success” link in the resource box.

How Puppy Pictures Can Give Your Web Site a Whole New Look

Increasing your site’s popularity is not easy, especially if you don’t have an interesting content to post on the page. In truth, not all Web sites on the Internet can brag of good traffic or a positive reputation to the online masses. If you want to give it a try, you might want to post your pet’s puppy pictures to achieve your goal of success in this little project.

Site Popularity With Cute Dog Pictures?

The popularity of your online page will depend on how much you keep your visitors interested in the information found on your page, and no one would be able to resist coming back to your site for more if they chance upon seeing dozens and dozens of cute puppy pictures on it.

Today, many site owners are publishing their pet’s photos on their online pages to attract more visitors. Since no one in their right mind would hate dog pictures that are too cute to ignore, having one on your page is a guarantee of more visitors in the long run — especially pet lovers.

In truth, you can practically see tons of people on the Web showing off their pet’s cuteness by posting their images on the Web. This is quite common on social networking sites or online community that focuses on our beloved canine companions. If you want to get started with this little project, then here are some ideas that should help you begin without any fuss.

1. Choose Your Puppy Pictures Carefully

Uploading all the pictures you have of your pet on the Web is not a good idea if you want to boost your site’s popularity. Let’s face, not all of your puppy pictures might be very appealing to the online masses. It is advisable that you choose carefully the pictures you want to post on your site, especially the cutest ones in the selection, to attract more people to your personal page.

2. Edit Your Photos Before Uploading To The Web

You might want to run your puppy pictures through a photo-editing program to make it compatible on the Web. Keep in mind that there are some sites on the Internet that has restriction regarding the uploading of pictures, such as the size of the file, the image format used, and the height and width of the image itself.

In most cases, you need to make sure that your photos are below the 200Kb (kilobyte) mark for it to be compatible on the Web so that it would faster on their respective Web browsers. If you have raw images of your puppy pictures, you might want to convert it to other image formats like JPG, GIF, and so on to reduce its size without affecting its overall quality.

Dynamic Websites in SEO Services

Dynamic websites are those sites where pages are generally built using a programming language like asp, php and java. Dynamic websites are often data driven that indicates that website content is stored in a database and content from this database is accessed through dynamic code.

Dynamic websites are difficult to get indexed in major search engines. This requires professional optimization. Most search engines claim to index the majority of dynamic websites. Most of the search engines claim for indexing majority of websites but the fact is that it is limited to a small number of urls.

Then how to optimize a dynamic website in seo services so that it gets indexed by major search engines. There are various methods for this.

First is to use URL rewriting tools or softwares o convert dynamic URL to static URL. These tools are available on the web. Changing a dynamic URL to static help in getting your website easily indexed by the search engines.

Second is the use of CGI or PERL scripts to get your dynamic nature websites indexed by the search engines. This is considered as an easy method as you need to write a simple script to convert a dynamic URL to a static one.

Third method is to manage web servers. In case of apache server there is rewrite module that enables you to turn the url that contain query strings into those urls that search engines can easily index. This module is not installed with apache software by default. So it needs to be checked with your web hosting company for installation. In case of cold fusion it is necessary to configure cold fusion on your server so that “?” is replaced by ‘/’ and passed the value to the URL.

Another method in seo services is creating a static page that links to an array of dynamic web pages. This is very effective when you own a small online store. When a static page is created linking to all the dynamic web pages then optimize this static page for search engine rankings.

SEO Accounts for Only 11% of SEM Spending

SEMPO recently published a study which shows that a only 11% of all search engine marketing advertising is spent on search engine optimization, with the vast majority, a full 83%, is spent on pay-per-click advertising.

While pay-per click (PPC) advertising has enormous benefits, I’m a bit surprised by how much advertising dollars consumed on PPC when search engine optimization (SEO) can produce a significantly higher return on investment for the same marketing dollars. In fact, considering the number of phone calls my company routinely gets from people looking for optimization because they are spending “too much” on their PPC campaigns, I think that many businesses understand that SEO is more cost effective.

I know I have previously said that SEO is Dead, which some have taken out of context. Yeah, that headline is meant to grab attention, but the point of that post was that SEO-only providers need to adapt their optimization strategies into more marketing oriented SEO services such as usability, conversion tracking, etc., in order to continue to be effective at SEO.

While four out of five respondents to the study said they are engaging in organic SEO, the big money still goes to PPC. This means that either organic SEO is considerably less expensive than it should be, or advertisers are more comfortable with sponsored advertising which they can often manage themselves with little outside help and ROI can be tracked more easily and instantly. Further study into this would prove interesting.

I’m willing to bet that a significant chunk of those spending money on PPC but not SEO are doing so because they find few SEO firms that understand how to incorporate sales, marketing and usability into their client’s sites. Many such companies simply don’t want to change their sites in order to accommodate optimization which they fear inhibits their site’s ability to sell. These site’s are unwilling to re-design for usability issues and/or incorporate any textual changes for the benefit of the search engines. We’ve run across our share of these companies ourselves. Unless they are willing to make some changes, SEO will largely be ineffective.

Some of these companies spend a great deal of money on their websites, going through layer after layer of corporate bureaucracy just to get approvals. Part of this bureaucracy is often a marketing department that is unwilling to make any changes to the site they worked so hard at getting “just right”.

Good SEO, however, is also good marketing. Many of our clients who manage their own PPC campaigns find that their PPC conversions often increase in conjunction with the optimization of a site. This is how it should be.

While future trends will undoubtedly show optimization marketing spend increasing in share vs. pay-per-click advertising, it will probably never overtake PPC simply because PPC is easy to set up, produces immediate results, and changes can be made online and effective almost immediately. Optimization is a long-term process that requires patience for results to be achieved, and continuous maintenance to stay “on top”. PPC simply requires more money to stay on top.

What surprised me the most about this study was that paid inclusion accounted for 1/3 of the total spending on SEO. It’s unclear on whether paid inclusion also includes directory submissions, but as Yahoo is currently the only paid inclusion provider AND one of the most popular web directories, this means they are getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $15-23M via their paid inclusion services. While directories are important, I have found that paid inclusion submissions generally are not important, except for some short-run campaign exceptions. That’s a large chunk of money that would undoubtedly be better spent elsewhere.

SEO Tips and Tricks - The Importance of a Sitemap and Submitting it to Search Engines

Let’s start with a small exercise. Pick up any random term and search for it on the internet. Now when the search results come up, visit the top 10 websites on the page and see if you can find something in common. Most people will look for similarity in design and colors or images. Try and look beyond the obvious if you can. It isn’t that easy to find or locate but it is one of the most powerful tools that will help you get listed on search results pages. Yes, I am talking about the sitemap. It might be hidden amidst banners and links and text and flash. It might be right at the bottom of the page or it might be right at the top but it surely will be present on each and every website on the first search results page. What is it about the sitemap that makes it so powerful? Does it mean that a website without a sitemap will never get indexed?

What a sitemap is all about

An XML sitemap is a guide for search engines. It tells the search engines about each URL in your website and when it has been last updated. This gives the search engine robots a pretty good idea about how frequently a page is updated and how frequently, they should be scanning it. It is almost like helping the search engines with a more precise and intelligent approach towards scanning your website.

Recent developments

In November 2006, the three top search engines (MSN, Yahoo! and Google) joined forces to create and support a new industry standard for website sitemaps. This version is called sitemaps 0.90. Any webmaster, who wishes that his website be indexed frequently by all major search engines, must follow the protocols as per sitemap 0.90.

How to create a sitemap

This isn’t very difficult. All web hosting providers have a section in their user control panel which allows you to create an XML sitemap. If you have any doubts about it, then you can always get in touch with your hosting provider. Other than this, there are tools on the internet which let you create a sitemap for free. Xml-sitemaps.com is one such website with a wonderful utility that creates a sitemap in as less as one minute. There are other tools as well on the same website which will help you with sitemaps.

Submitting to search engines

Each search engine has a different portal for webmasters willing to submit a sitemap. I have covered Google in this article. The others also follow a very similar methodology. Firstly, you need to have an account with Google. In case you do not have it, I recommend that you sign up for one. It hardly takes a couple of minutes but it gives you access to a huge load of webmaster tools that will prove to be crucial in the long run.

Once you have an account with Google, log in to your account. Then click on a link called webmaster tools on the main account page. The rest is pretty self explanatory. One important point that needs mention is that Google will first ask you to verify that you are the rightful owner of the website that you have submitted to Google. This can be done by adding a Meta tag that Google will give you or an HTML page to your website. Once again the process is very easy and should hardly take a few minutes of your time.

Other than submitting your sitemap, you can also use the webmaster diagnostic tools to learn about any potential problems with your website.

Passport To Wealth SEO Training Class Instructor Explains the Importance Of Content On Website

Marketing is one of the most controversial and talked about aspects of business. Search engine optimization, defined as the practice of designing web pages so that they rank as high as possible in search results from search engines. Search Engine Optimization is a online marketing campaign that small and large business use as an advertising resource. Years ago entrepreneurs would create a website and would hope that the Page rank for that site would be found by the search engines. In present marketing strategies for seo it goes much deeper then just setting up a website and holding your breath hoping Google, Yahoo, and MSN find your page. At the beginning of any seo training class it is suggested to set your website up with proper structure and content so that the search engine can find and spider your website.

Online Marketing Experts, and trainers of seo training classes, often dispute tactics as far as setting up a search engine optimization campaign. Many experts suggest their is one formula to achieving high rankings on the Internet. While others suggest that each campaign is different and the ranking has to be watched, evaluated, and modified accordingly. Regardless, of disputes it is agree that the content on your website can have a direct influence on your page rank.

In most seo training classes , and every online marketing adviser is going to explain the importance of having a well established website and good content. Here is a list to consider as you set your content up on your web page.

1.) What is the main keyword you want to use. Think about this…what is your product service and why would customers seek you out. Get in the mind frame of one of your customers. What would you search for to find your business opportunity.

2.) Make your page relevant but put your keywords scattered through your website. For an example if you use online marketing as a keyword. Put it through out your page. NOTE: Write for the customer first, putting your keyword in after. Don’t forget the purpose of your page is for you customer not just for your seo tactics.

3.) Bold or underline your keyword or keyword phrase - Again use this sparingly just a few places on your website bold your keyword or keyword phrase. This can be tricky as sometimes the spiders see to much bold on your website for you keywords and will spam you.

4.) The spiders read left to right - At the top of your page your main keyword should be one of the first thing that the spiders read. Have a heading and try to use your main keyword here.

5.) Graphics and pictures - Pictures are a great resource for customers but spiders only acknowledge text. There is a way around this. You can name your pictures after your keywords. The spiders can then acknowledge your keywords.

When setting up your page always remember the reason that you are completing a page. Write and create for your customer first. You want your website to make sense to your viewers first, and the search engines second.

Teachers of Seo training classes , and online marketers have seen the overall effects of setting up a website correctly the first time. Creating the page with the above elements in mind can start your seo campaign up right from the beginning. In conclusion, even with the controversies how the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN are spidering our websites. The one thing online marketers and seo training classes instructors agree on is that having your website with the proper content can help your seo efforts for the long haul.
