Free Web Traffic Sources - 9 Proven Methods to Drive Web Site Traffic

In my quest to bring my own costs down and also find “new” things to share with with my readers and “earn extra money” list subscribers, I recently revisited the wonderful world of finding free web traffic.

There are some great free things you can do out there, and many of them that I’ve been learning about myself lately center around the concept of blog promotion. While I’ve converted most of my own web sites to blog publishing platforms of one type or another, I’ve never really gotten into the learning about RSS feeds, content promotion through blog rings, pinging, and that sort of thing. Now that I’ve started to implement it, I’m really fascinated by the possibilities, and have added some blog feed based marketing methods to my list of things to always do. Speaking of which, if you don’t have a marketing playbook or checklist of things you do regularly, then I encourage you to adopt one.

Content is, and always has been, the king the any media source. This includes television, newspaper, magazine, radio, Internet, and any other medium. The only reason that people tune in to a medium is for the content. With that in mind, you’ll notice that most of my basic, free marketing methods in my playbook revolve around providing content, and using that content to build my lists (the money is in the list!).

Without further ado, here is my marketing matrix of free methods:

1. Ads on free classified ads sites, such as Backpages, Craigslist, and Kijiji.

2. Posting articles on article directory sites, such as EzineArticles.

(a) Corrolary: All articles are blog posts, and most blog posts are articles!

3. Creating educational YouTube videos and putting URL in the video and link in the description text.

4. Posting content to industry hubs and networking sites. For example, ActiveRain is a very popular blogging and online networking community for real estate brokers, in much the same way that Facebook is for college students. Networking with other people expands your sphere, also.

5. Discussion board participation. Pick forums related to your industry and site, and put links in your signature line so it appears in all your posts. These can be stand-alone sites, or “groups” on sites like MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

6. Comment on related blogs, leaving a link behind.

7. Automatically submit your content to aggregators. The easiest way to do this is to burn your feed to FeedBurner and enable the feature to distribute your feed to blog aggregators.

8. Place links in your blog posts to allow readers to submit them to Digg, Delicious, Stumble Upon, Fark, and other such “best of blogging” sites.

And last, but definitely MOST important, the number one web traffic generator of all time…

9. Build your list! Get people to subscribe to your email list or blog feed to receive announcements of blog updates, product promotions, tips, tricks, secrets, and anything else your readers might want to know about.

I recently became a huge fan of Feedburner.com, a Google product. It allows you to automate several functions listed above, as well as BUILD A LIST for FREE! You can add a “Get email updates” subscription form on your blog and they will be automatically notified whenever you put up a new post. While lacking the significant power of a sequential autoresponder, it’s a great way to build a list without subscribing to a service. Feedburner will even let you export your subscriber list in Excel format, so you can take it with you if you move beyond it’s capabilities.

These 9 free marketing methods should get you thousands of unique visitors per month to your site, which is sufficient to generate a small but significant AdSense or affiliate revenue stream.

Using Free Leads to Generate Sales

It is common sense that the more people you have visiting your website, the more sales you will earn. The problem is, how do you draw in the much desired traffic? Although there are a number of ways to do this, the free leads that result from increased traffic will boost your business more than you can imagine.

Bottom line, targeted traffic translates into free leads. Once you have determined who your target audience is, you can market to them with incentives that you know they want. So how do you draw in this targeted traffic? Here are 4 ways:

1. Blogs

When you create a blog about your business or niche, people can easily check updates and access your website. You should include a link to your squeeze page, which will include strong information to convince prospects to opt-in to your promotion.

2. Forums

You can use forums to establish credibility for yourself. Provide constructive feedback to discussions, and prove you know what you’re talking about. You should read the rules for each forum that you visit so that you do not do anything that violates them. Most of the time they will not let you link back to your website, but some will allow you to at the end of your comment.

3. Article Marketing

Write engaging and original articles on your niche subject. If you can peak your readers’ interest, they will be more likely to click on the link at the end of your article. Try to give only enough information that you keep them interested but do not satisfy their desire for more information.

4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Although this takes more time and effort than the other ways to drive in traffic, it is well worth it. To start optimizing your website for search engines, do some research to figure out what search engines like. Start implementing these into your website, and monitor your success.

Effectively Use Overture & Yahoo to Get Visitors to Your Site

Overture which was formerly known as yahoo; was the original inventor of the use of the P4P or pay for performance. If you are struggling to get people to your site; you are going to want to read this article in its entirety we are going to discuss how to effectively use Overture to get visitors to your site.

Overture which is still fast and growing knows that the internet is fast and becoming the easiest and most convenient method that people choose to shop and get the word out about their business. However many people who first decide to advertise online do not understand how easy it is to spend more money than they make. So how can you begin using the power of Overture and other search engines to get the word out about your business?

It is easy you bid on keywords that people are looking for and you begin making money when people visit your site and buy your product that you are marketing or sign up in your opt list and buy what you have later. It is a proven fact that many people will not buy what you put in front of the their face the first time they see it; they usually buy after the seventh time of seeing your email. However what do you do if you do not have the money to begin marketing your products on the search engines?

How can you begin using the free search engine traffic to begin drawing traffic to your site? The free traffic you can get to your business site is sometimes better than paid traffic. Once the money runs out when you are advertising on Overture; then of course the traffic stops coming to your site.

If you are beginning in marketing I highly recommend you avoid pay per click; which is you pay for each and every click; whenever someone clicks on one of your ads. You can learn how to use it eventually; however it is not a good way for a newbie to begin their marketing business. If you want to learn how to make your business profitable; you must learn how to market your business without using a lot of money.

I made the mistake of over spending on my business when I first started and it was a financial mistake. You do not have to have a lot of money to effectively use Overture and Google. However you must have a proven plan that you can follow.

If you are tired of trying to make an online business work and do not seem to be getting anywhere and want to effectively use Overture to get visitors to your site; visit our site below. You will also learn how to utilize the power of the other search engines to begin getting more visitors to your site; after all more visitors mean more money. You will find a proven method that works without spending more money than you will be making.

Understanding Web Traffic Through Log Files

If you have a web site, you should (we hope) have traffic.

Are you tracking how those visitors are coming to your site? If not, your site is not as successful as it can be.

Traffic analysis is one of the most difficult skills to learn for any Web publisher or e-merchant. Fortunately, there are tools to make the job easier. We will give you our recommendation at the end of this article.

In regards to your website traffic, you must know where your visitors are coming from, what paths your visitors are taking and which pages are the main exit points of your site. Also, you need to track which keywords users type in the search engines to get to your site.

By having this information, you will be able to tailor your site to the needs of your visitors.

*Referring URL This information will tell you where your visitors came from, such as a link on another site or a search engine. If the visitor came from a search engine, the statistics should also tell you which search term was used - which is vital information. An analysis of these search terms can be very valuable when creating or registering your pages.

*Top Entry Pages Although the main entry page will be your Home Page, by reviewing this information, you will know if a sub page that you did not intend for your visitor to see first is, in fact, one of the main entry points to your site. By knowing which pages most people enter through, you can optimize those pages for an even better search engine ranking. You can also review the content and improve the page copy which can enhance your visitor’s experience and your profits.

*Top Exit Pages By knowing which pages most traffic leaves through, you can decide how to enhance those pages or eliminate them entirely.

*Paths and Average Time Per Page By reviewing your logs you notice that your top keyword phrase is bringing you 8% of your traffic, but the visitors are generally only viewing the one page and leaving in less than ten seconds. You have a problem. Or, visitors are viewing 4-6 pages each, going to your product order page, then backing out. By viewing how visitors go through your site and the time they spend on each page will alert you to potential problems quickly, or alert you that you are doing just fine and not to mess with success.

*Most Or Least Visited Pages It is important to know what brings people to your site initially or keeps them there once they have arrived. These statistics can help you determine that.

*Activity Level By The Hour of Day All sites require maintenance or updating of pages to remain viable. These activities are best accomplished when your site traffic is the lowest.

*Which Browser Your Visitors Use Although most web page features are compatible with later versions of Netscape or Internet Explorer, you may find your traffic is stronger in one or the other. This fact will help you optimize design features for that browser.

In viewing the above, we highly recommend, and use ourselves, Web Stat. For just $10.00 per month, you can have a strong handle of your website.

Web Promotion - How To Get Swarms Of Massive Traffic Absolutely Free

In this article, we are going to go through a method to get massive traffic to your online business absolutely free. Whatever you do with this traffic is not relevant, but you can send the traffic to content pages, sales pages or opt-in pages; it’s completely up to you! The focus here is on generating massive free traffic that you can tap on.

You are going to need articles. Yes, we are going to do article marketing. It’s THE best free traffic generation method out there. The returns are great.

You can either write the articles yourself (it’s easy once you know how! I’ll explain in a bit) or you can hire a writer to write them for you. You either spend two assets - your money or your time. Either way, your goal is to have a volume of articles out there promoting your site.

Of all the articles you publish, the majority won’t get much traffic, but those that do will swarm your website with tons of visitors!

How do you write your articles? Focus the articles on your niche topic. Create a list of keywords that have good search numbers on Google (at least 50 per day) and not too much competition (less than 1,000,000 competitors when you search for the keyword phrase in “quotes”). Write articles that focus on these keywords. Have the keywords in your titles and a few times in your article content itself. This will allow your content to have a chance to rank well for the keywords.

Write like you talk, that makes the whole writing process easy! Compress your article into 3 main parts: the introduction (introduce your topic with a few sentences), the body (the main ‘meat’ of your article where the main content is) and the conclusion (summarize your main points).

Once your articles are done, submit them to article directories. You’d want to create a list of 3 to 5 of the top directories on the web that you submit to on a regular basis.

How You Can Identify Good Traffic From Bad

Generating traffic to a website is probably the most important part of generating income online, especially when you are trying to have multiple streams of income. Without visitors to your website, no one is looking at the different things that they can buy. With no one purchasing anything, all you are managing to do is waste your time and the opportunity to have multiple streams of income is slipping through your hands. However, in the desire to boost traffic to your website, you must be careful. There are a number of scams out there which declare they can help boost traffic to your website. They are not specific, however, in the type of traffic they will bring you and this is the downfall.

High volume does not always mean sales. People can visit your website every day and not buy anything. When these potential customers visit your website, it counts as someone viewing your web page, but it does not mean that they even necessarily ever had the desire to purchase anything. There are many sorts of scams on the Internet, which are designed for struggling business owners, wanting to boost their multiple sources of income, who are looking for help. When they read of a plan’s surefire way to boost traffic to the web site, they often will pay these programs a large amount of money for this assistance.

However, this assistance is often misguided for these programs are usually not bringing traffic to the website that wants to be there. Often, when leaving one certain web page, another one will pop-up. People are then forced to visit this additional page until they can find a way to close the browser. This counts as traffic to the website but these visitors are never actually looking around, meaning that all the money you might have spent on getting this traffic is utterly wasted. This is not a good way in the least to supplement your multiple streams of income.

The best way to generate traffic to your website is through the use of links. When people want to know more about a certain subject, they will often use the search engine to research that topic. These search engines provide a list of links, some of which might lead to your web site. When consumers then follow those links, they are lead straight to your website and will take time to browse the page, learning more and hopefully spending money, adding to your multiple streams of income.

Learning how to determine how people are getting to your website is important. Depending on the shopping cart technology being used by your website, you can create custom confirmation pages which can then track the progress from clicking to sales. Therefore, it can be a great asset to know exactly how your visitors are getting to your website and what they do when they are there. This can only help you in building your business to a better state.

Boost Your Web Site Traffic - 14 Benefits of Keyword Optimization

Having a top search engine ranking is like money in your pocket. However, search engine optimization is an ongoing challenge for companies and individuals who want to drive more traffic to their sites. One of the best ways to boost your search engine traffic is to populate your site with optimized content. Here is how to create it: with a keyword optimization tool.

Keyword optimization tools perform three extremely valuable functions that are hard to find anywhere else:

a. They suggest variations on your selected keywords that you had not yet thought of yet

b. They tell you how often each keyword is actually being searched for daily on the World Wide Web (note: the higher the number of searches, the more valuable the keyword)

c. They reveal how many competing Web sites feature the keywords you want to use (note: the lower the number of competing Web sites, the more easily your site will make it to the top of the rankings)

You can perform keyword optimization yourself by using any one of a number of free or fee-based tools, easy-to-use tools. I recommend starting out with a free tool like that available from Overture (do a search on your favorite search engine to find it).

Another option, once you get the hang of things and want to go pro, is to try out for free the leading keyword optimization tool, Wordtracker®, at: http://www.Wordtracker-Free-Trial.com

If you do decide to use a fee-based tool (which I highly recommend), the investment you make in a subscription will likely pay off in just a few days of use: making educated guesses about what people are searching for is no match for taking your advice from a keyword optimization tool. And, in addition to finding keywords for creating optimized content for your Web sit, you can use your subscription to a keyword optimization tool to do a whole bunch of other value-adding activities, such as:

1. Embed your Web pages with optimized keyword meta tags;
2. Write successful articles that get ranked on the first page and above the fold of top search engines and position you as an expert in your field;
3. Do preliminary product or service testing: see what people are thinking about and looking for in different product areas;
4. Write better, more eye-catching and successful ads for online ad sites;
5. Write blog titles that get more attention for your already-chosen topics;
6. Get ideas for new blog topics;
7. Find out what terms people are searching for in general and use the terms in your traditional, offline media such as brochures and newspaper ads;
8. Write subject titles for opt-in e-mail campaigns that get people’s attention because it is what is already on their minds;
9. Test which words to use for a new content Web site you are considering creating in order to generate income from Google AdSense ads;
10. Try ideas for various product or service names to see what is hot and what is already taken; 11. Look for popular keywords and try to extrapolate microtrends upon which your business could capitalize;
12. Optimize your Pay-per-Click advertising campaigns, in terms of both ad title and keywords bidding;
13. Etc., etc., etc.!

Creating optimized content for your Web site is one of the cornerstones to boosting traffic to your site. A keyword optimization tool is a no-brainer decision for getting you the optimized content you need.

Got optimized content? If not, your site is likely missing thousands of potential hits per month. Visit our blog at http://www.jcjinteractive.com/ for free tips and techniques.

Search Engine Optimization - All You Need to Know About SEO

Every website owner aims to improve their business through the customer traffic. It is true that the proportion of customer traffic and profit in online business share a direct relationship. More the number of visitors to a particular website, higher will be the chances of that site booming into a full fledged online business.

With the increasing competition, only those individuals are able to survive in the business competition that is able to promote their business and website in the right manner. The online world is bombarded with thousands of websites, catering to every possible product/service. In order to get noticed among this crowd, it is extremely necessary for an individual to resort to Search Engine Optimization.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a technique which helps an individual to improve level of customer traffic and business volume to a particular website. Search engine optimization is basically aimed at targeting different kinds of search engines and improving the page ranking for the particular website.

Search engine optimization makes use of several marketing strategies in order to increase the site’s performance. SEO deals with search algorithms which are used to improve the marketability of the particular website. Apart from search algorithms, some of the other techniques which are used in search engine optimization include modifying the site’s coding, presentation and fixing the minor problems which the site might be facing.

Some other popular methods for search engine optimization include link frames and stuffing the content on the website with optimum number of keywords. However, it is extremely important to note that sites which have relatively high number of keywords stuffed into the content or have employed more than two or three search engine techniques in a prominent manner, might end up being categorized under spam by search engines.

There are a large number of IT professionals who specialize in providing the facility of search engine optimization to their clients. There are individuals who prefer to choose search engine optimization as a part of some other broader marketing strategy or as individual step. Whatever be the method the purpose is to aggrandize and expand the online business sphere.

Most of the webmasters are generally advised to install spiders into their websites. These spiders are technological tools which help an individual to check the presence of any undesirable, spam content in their website. SEO techniques can broadly be categorized into two categories i.e. white hat and black hat.

Search engine techniques which do not make use of any unlawful practices and illegal methods in order to boost the page rankings of a particular website fall under the category of white hat. On the other hand, search engine techniques which make use of spam content and unlawful methods are categorized as spamdexing or black hat. Most of the websites which make use of spamdexing stand at the risk of being banned sooner or later by the search engines.

Thus, it is advisable to stick to techniques which will help an individual to promote their website via search engine optimization for a long time in the future.

Online Communities Are Useful For SEO

An online community is a term that can be used for a variety of social groups interacting via the Internet. Some examples are, wikis which are websites that allow the visitors themselves to easily add, remove and otherwise edit and change available content, Wikipedia being the best example. Another example would a blog or chat rooms.

It is a general rule that relevant links into your website will enhance your Page Rank thus moving you up the Search Engine Rankings. It is possible to link from Internet Forums, Blogs and Wikis to your website. However, you have to consider how open the sites you are wishing to link from are to abuse, which could result in your site being blacklisted.

You will also find that different sites have different rules about linking. For example, Internet Forums may insist on you subscribing, which may incur a fee. There may also be a minimum number of postings required before you can provide a link to your site. On the other hand, you could find blogs where you can post comments without having to subscribe to anything but will not allow you to leave any anchor text link in your comment. Also, some sites may not allow links from commercial sites. All those factors will change from one place to another so keep looking and you will find what you want, as there are millions of forums, blogs and wikis that are dealing with millions of different topics.

Adding a blog to your website has a significant effect on your site optimization due to the new content which will attract the search engine spiders.

Posting on other blogs can provide a link to your own site but be careful who you link to. Make sure the site is of high quality and relevant to your site or you could be in danger of blacklisting.
In conclusion, online communities can provide new opportunities in optimizing your site but you have to exercise the same level of discernment as you would with conventional link building. Actually an SEO company will tend more and more to use this kind of SEO technique.
