Anchoring Your Backlinks!
Link building is absolutely key to effective search engine optimization (SEO) activities. Search engine optimization is the tuning up of a website for the search engines. There are both ‘on page’ factors and ‘off page’ factors. Off page means those elements that are external to your website that can help your website to rank well in the search engines.
The most important amongst these are getting plenty of backlinks from other websites that point to your website. This is considered to be the most important off page factor in search engine optimization.
Now, an important aspect of linking is the anchor text. The anchor text is the linking text that you click on that takes you to a linked website. Usually this is the blue text that is clickable. Most people will probably have their website address as the clickable link that takes the user directly to your website.
However, to use linking properly and effectively, you need to have proper anchor text. This is because it will help you to rank in the search engines for certain keywords. If I was promoting aloe vera herbal products, then if I receive links from other websites, I would want the anchor text (the blue clickable link) to contain my targeted keyword, say it was ‘natural aloe vera’.
This in essence will cast your website a vote for the keyword ‘natural aloe vera’. The more backlinks that you have with the keyword ‘natural aloe vera’ in the anchor text, the more popular your website will be for that keyword. So, when someone types in ‘natural aloe vera’ into the search engines, they will see that your website is popular for that term (due to the number of backlinks with the keyword in the anchor text) and will therefore rank your website higher for it.
With most high ranking websites, websites that are on the first page of Google, you can be sure that they have a large number of backlinks with relevant anchor text for specific keywords. If you have a website that you were promoting, would it be useful to be able to spy on your competitors, those that were ranking in the Top 10 of Google and find out exactly what their linking strategy is?
This would be golden information! There is software that you can use that quickly checks out the competition and breaks down their linking strategy. You can actually discover how many backlinks they have, who links to them and what anchor text they use! With this information, you can have a clearer idea on what you need to do in order to compete with them. You can also simply copy their strategy and even better it!
I have reviewed some powerful software at www.seofactory.co.uk, and the one that came out top is not the most expensive but allows you to use this very strategy, as well as a load of other amazing things that will just give you an unfair advantage. Take a look now and see for yourself!
